ROAM Consulting has developed a sophisticated system of distributed hardware and software systems for provision of services to our clients. Modelling energy markets is a very data and computationally intensive exercise. To manage the vast data requirements ROAM applies rigorous data verification techniques and approaches each unique problem in a systematic, process driven style.

Modelling Environment

ROAM currently operates a cluster of three SQL servers and more than ten dedicated simulation machines. ROAM's proprietary automated job dispatch and management system utilises these dedicated simulation machines and all other non-dedicated machines on the ROAM network creating a distributed parallel processing environment. This currently almost doubles the simulation processing power outside of business hours when all available CPU power is harnessed. The system is designed to be scalable to tens of servers and hundreds of clone work machines.

Our web-based Bureau Service will enable our clients to directly tap into this bank of hardware, granting them the tailored application of ROAM's trademark 'attention to detail' simulation modelling methods.
